Richard Jacob Rudy

1/20/85 - 9/30/05

Rich was 20 years old when he passed away in a car accident on the night of September 30, 2005.  Life was just starting for him as an aspiring mechanic.  He was attending Lincoln Technical Institute and planning to open an automotive repair shop with our dad.

Rich could pretty much fix anything; he had a natural talent when it came to mechanics.  He had a love for driving that started with his jeep powerwheels when he could barely walk.  Growing up, he spent hours working in the shop with my dad - Rich was out there all day and night.  His Z28 was his baby - he put so much time and hard work into his car.

Rich had a million friends.  He was the protective brother that every girl needs.  He was a son that made my parents very proud.  In fact, he was a son and brother not just to my parents and me; he was this for many people.

He loved to eat, especially Ellio's pizza in the middle of the night.

He had this half-smile and a laugh that was contagious to all around him.  He was a true friend and would do anything for those he loved.  He was strong and tough on the outside, but so caring on the inside.  He truly had such a big heart.  Rich was a good person and touched so many people in his short time.  I can only imagine the things he would have done and accomplished....

And so we remember Rich and celebrate all of these things by having a car show in his memory and helping others .... two things that were close to his heart.
